News from the Library

We are so lucky we live where we live!  Social distancing is not such a problem for us.  Many people chose or stay in Berkshire and Richford just for that reason.  Like everywhere else our physical building, the Library, is closed to protect our patrons and our employees but that doesn’t mean all our services are closed.

Last year, we circulated over 9,000 books, this year your books may look different. They are on the internet.  As the Libraries were ordered to close their doors, the libraries all began to think how can we help remotely.  Our ebooks, audiobooks, digital magazines, children’s books (Tumblebooks)  are available free through your Library with your Library card.  If you need help to access these programs, please email bfl@htva.net for assistance or phone 657-4418.

If you owed fines or your registration has expired, these blocks have been turned off so you can access the     services.  Library books that you have checked out are not due back until June 1.

Our website and Facebook page is being updated daily.  On the Facebook page (Berkshire Free Library) we have shared resources for parents and children at home.  Please use our page to post good resources that you have found that are helping you throughout this time.  Phone messages are being answered daily. (657-4418)

Our painting class, STEAM workshop, & craft nights have all been put on hold for now.

Please take advantage of our services and we look forward to seeing you at the Library!
